The region of Vojvodina provides a secure investment environment, guaranteed by the legislation that is in line with EU practices and the national and regional government prepared to assist foreign companies in the FDI establishment process.
Since 2001, 206 foreign investments worth € 5 billion have been made in Vojvodina, providing employment for more the 68,000 workers.
Largest investments in real estate/construction sector have been recorded on the behalf of companies such as Lafarge, Mercator, Wienerberger, Vondel Capital, Saint Gobain, Metro C&C. etc, with more than EUR 500 mil invested in this sector so far.
Novi Sad is the largest city in Vojvodina province, with population of 400,000 (2010 estimation) and represents administrative, political, economic and educational centre of the province. Other major cities in Vojvodina are Subotica, Zrenjanin, Pancevo etc.
